Planning & Control

Planning

At Ingeniería Planco, we believe that technical knowledge of the project is essential to achieving a good Work Plan. We begin by studying the plans and calculating the main indicators. This allows us to correctly develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), which clearly establishes the scope of the project.

The WBS allows control to be established at different levels. At Ingeniería Planco, we use a matrix scheme where we combine the different elements and communicate information in an innovative way. During its preparation, the contract’s payment terms are taken into account in order to incorporate the appropriate elements that allow for the direct generation of work valuations.

Together with the client, the corresponding weights are assigned to these WBS elements, and the expected yields are studied based on the construction time, work site, and other factors. Similarly (and if necessary), a constructability analysis of the project or some aspect of it is performed. Next, the project budget is analyzed and adjusted to the WBS, thus establishing a relationship between physical progress and financial progress. Finally, the Work Plan is prepared, assigning the corresponding resources.

In addition, planning can be carried out using one or a combination of the two main methodologies, depending on the type of work:

  • Activity-based.
  • Location-based.

Control

Prior to the start of work, measurement criteria for the various activities are established together with the client, depending on the type of contract.

During the execution of the project, our field staff will collect data directly on site at each cut-off period, whether weekly, biweekly, or monthly, and meetings will be held with those responsible for carrying out the activities.

This data is then processed to convert it into information, which is used to perform the corresponding analyses and issue recommendations.

This provides the client with the best possible understanding of the status of the project, enabling them to make the right decisions.

Communication

Static Report

Static reports are mainly presented in PDF format.

They have a fixed format, with a predefined structure and a large amount of detail about the project. They include various dashboards for parameters such as physical progress, man-hours, budget, indicative quantities, comments, among others.

Dashboards display relevant information about the entire project, organized according to the WBS.

One of the benefits of using Dashboards is that they display information based on each element for any cut-off date. In addition, the project history is available on a single sheet, providing organized and immediate information, thus facilitating analysis for decision-making.

Interactive Report

Interactive reports can be presented in PowerBI or Looker Studio.

The main benefit of interactive reports is that they allow customers to specifically select the information they want to view, offering greater flexibility and exploration capabilities.

This type of report allows users to delve deeper into the data at their own pace, filtering, sorting, and segmenting the information according to their needs.

These types of reports are fully accessible on your phone or tablet from the cloud.
